Barber Evening Concert
Since making his London debut in 2009, Mahan Esfahani has established himself as the first harpsichordist in a generation whose work spans virtually all the areas of classical music-making from critically-acclaimed performances and recordings of the standard repertoire to working with the leading composers of the day and pioneering concerto appearances with major symphony orchestras on four continents. Join Mahan as he makes his Barber Concerts debut with a thrilling programme spanning four centuries, including a set of six pieces by Michael Berkeley, described as ‘vivid little virtuoso sketches depicting the movements of different insects’ (Andrew Clements, The Guardian).
- Handel Suite No.3 in D minor, HWV428
- Michael Berkeley Haiku II: Insects (2023)
- J.S. Bach Concerto in the Italian Style in F, BWV971
