This October, join The Exchange Book Club in partnership with Lyza Lawal, founder of Blacklore. Together, we’ll celebrate Booktober by exploring powerful stories by writers of colour that reflect shared human experiences and emotions.

The first book on our TBR (to-be-read) list is Rootless by Krystle Zara Appiah.

Book synopsis

“Efe and Sam have been best friends since before they were married. To an outside eye, they have a relationship most can only dream of. But behind closed doors, Sam wants to start a family, while Efe longs for a life free of responsibility. When an unplanned pregnancy forces Efe into a stark choice, she has to decide which is more important – her love for her family, or the life she wanted for herself.”
